Helping others through volunteering allows you to make a meaningful difference in your community. It can also boost happiness and provide a deep sense of accomplishment and purpose. This week, during National Volunteer Week, we proudly celebrate those who generously donate their time and talents to our health system and community as Lee Health volunteers.
We are fortunate to have a dedicated volunteer workforce—many of whom are former patients or family members of patients—who give back with kindness, compassion and a strong commitment to supporting our health system’s mission.
Volunteers serve in nearly every department across our hospitals, offices and community-based locations, contributing in both patient care and non-patient care roles. Whether they’re driving a trolley, transporting patients, working in our gift shops or uniform stores, assisting with clerical tasks or lending a hand in countless other ways, our volunteers play a vital role in creating a healing environment and enhancing the experiences of our patients, visitors, and staff.
The impact of our Lee Health volunteers cannot be overstated. They bring enthusiasm, life experience and compassion to every shift—making a real difference in the lives of others. We are deeply grateful for their service and proudly honor their contributions this week and throughout the year.
