Franklin Rimell, MD, is a board-certified otolaryngologist specializing in Pediatric Ear, Nose, and Throat at Lee Health. With decades of experience and a distinguished academic background, Dr. Rimell is a nationally recognized leader in pediatric ENT care. He treats infants, children, and adolescents with a wide range of conditions, bringing deep expertise and compassionate care to every patient and family he serves. Dr. Rimell has held prominent leadership roles throughout his career, including serving as Chief of Pediatric Ear, Nose, and Throat at the University of Minnesota (1995–2017) and Vice Chief and Program Director of Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles (2018–2021). He has authored more than 60 peer-reviewed publications and 11 book chapters focused on pediatric ENT disorders and innovations in care. A pioneer in the field, Dr. Rimell contributed early advancements in pediatric cochlear implantation and developed methods for office-based PE tube placement in young children. Dr. Rimell earned his medical degree from the Chicago Medical School and completed his residency in Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery at the University of Minnesota. He pursued advanced fellowship training in Pediatric Otolaryngology at the Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh, University of Pittsburgh.
