Dr. Gary Correnti is a board-certified neurosurgeon with the American Board of Neurological Surgery and has been providing compassionate, expert neurosurgical care in Fort Myers since 1995. As a seasoned physician at the Musculoskeletal Institute at Lee Health, Dr. Correnti is known for his deep commitment to patient-centered care, taking the time to listen closely to each patient and ensure they understand their diagnosis and treatment options. His clinical interests include complex cervical and lumbar spinal reconstruction and fusion, herniated discs, intracranial hemorrhages, brain tumors, meningiomas, and compression fractures. Dr. Correnti often begins treatment conservatively, recommending physical therapy or pain management when appropriate. When surgical intervention is needed, he performs state-of-the-art procedures, including decompressive microsurgery, complex spinal instrumentation, and intracranial microsurgery for tumors, trauma, and hemorrhages, using the latest available technology. Dr. Correnti earned his medical degree from the University of Pennsylvania, completed a general surgery internship at Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York, and completed his neurosurgery residency at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. He has held numerous leadership positions, including Chairman of the Department of Surgery, Chief of Staff, and is the current Chief of the Division of Neurosurgery at Gulf Coast Medical Center. Dr. Correnti continues to serve on the Medical Executive Committee, reflecting his ongoing dedication to excellence in care, leadership, and the advancement of neurosurgical practices.

    Sarah, my first nurse out of surgery was absolutely amazing both professionally and personally. Love her to death. Others on staff at the hospital were equally amazing at helping me recover.     From the front desk to Dr. Correnti himself - my office visit experience was amazing. His nurse assured me I’m in the best hands and was so warm and welcoming. The PA Byron listened carefully to my medical history, symptoms and their progression. Dr. Correnti explained in detail the facts about the findings by using images and discussed the prognosis as well as concerns involving me in the decision on moving forward with [ ] after [ ] to provide lasting [ ].     From the moment I walked in the office suite, I was impressed with the cleanliness and calming atmosphere. The front desk receptionist was extremely pleasant and personable. The MA who prepped me in the [ ] for the visit was pleasant and efficient. I dont reme mber their names as I was somewhat nervous, but everyone put me at ease. The Dr. was awesome and able to immediately explain to me why I was having the [ ], had a solution and a plan.
